F.A. 545-546: The War of Wrath begins

F.A. 545:

• The Host of the Valar lands in Beleriand. Their final war against Morgoth, the War of Wrath, begins.

At last the might of Valinor came up out of the West, and the challenge of the trumpets of Eönwë filled the sky; and Beleriand was ablaze with the glory of their arms, for the host of the Valar were arrayed in forms young and fair and terrible, and the mountains rang beneath their feet. (The Silmarillion, Chapter 24, "Of the Voyage of Eärendil and the War of Wrath")

• The Elves of Beleriand, Noldor and Sindar, do not fight in the war; but the remainder of the Edain do.

• We do not know the dates of any specific events in the war, up until its end, but it will last for more than 40 years and span all of Beleriand. (Since we are covering two years per day, that means no new emails for the next three weeks.)

• Elrond and Elros are 13 years old at the beginning of the war, and 55 years old at its end.
